DIORAMAS
DIORAMAS
Waldman’s dioramas are a cross between dollhouse scenes and small film sets, each construction depicting a contained world where character, props, and, often, lighting combine to tell a story. Using a cartoonish style influenced by stop-motion animation, she sculpts polymer clay figures and both uses and creates miniatures from wood, clay, metal, glass, styrene and more. Most of the dioramas are housed in wood, with some variations (e.g, an acrylic box, a birdcage), and average 12” H x 12” D x 20” W .
